On November 10th 2014 IEDR has introduced new domain transfer auth-codes with the intention of simplifying the domain transfer process and making it more secure.
From now on you do not need to provide a signed letter to transfer the domain. You simply visit https://console.iedr.ie/index.php?r=authcodePortal/request and request AUTH code for the transfer. It is emailed to the owner of the domain.
Further on you will need to provide this code when requesting a domain transfer.
